3 Little Pillowcases Blowing in the Breeze

Ok, it's been a while since my last (& first) post. I was hoping to be able to post something each week, but to be honest, I hit the bottom of an empty can & couldn't work out how to get out.

Just before that though, I decided that my daughter needed to learn how to make something practical with her sewing machine. A shopping trip (read headache for mum)ensued & then we set to work. The pillowcase on the left of the pic is what we made together - she did the sewing, I did the talking.
The following weekend I made the black/white case in the middle which is actually a pair of cases, but I figured that I didn't need to post a pic of the other one (It looks the same). It's taken another 4 weeks for me to even look at the last one - the one on the right. I decided late yesterday afternoon that it needed to be made.No prizes for guessing which is for the master bedroom & which is for the 'master'!

Each pillowcase is made from about 1metre of base fabric + other fabrics for trims. Unlike most cases that you buy 'off the shelf' these have an extra seam - If I had bought 1.5-2m of the base fabric I wouldn't have needed that extra seam, but I would have had enough to make 2 normal cases (fine for the black/white ones but the kids don't really need pairs of cases!)

A little knitting is happening too - but I'm going to save that for my next post.
